The story begins with a dream, or rather, a nightmare. My great friend Júlia, after a banquet fit for a king, fell asleep and woke up with a name ringing in her mind: Babbi Osteria. Intrigued by this subliminal message from the subconscious, we decided to unravel the mysteries that this restaurant hid. As we entered the venue, we were greeted by a soft melody of indirect lighting, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. It was as if we were entering an urban refuge, far from the hustle and bustle of the stone jungle. Hunger, already sharpened by waiting, roared in our stomachs like a hungry lion. We then decided to start our gastronomic symphony with the Carbonara pizza, a creamy ode to bacon and egg yolk. Each bite was a dive into a sea of flavor, an explosion of textures that transported us to Italy with our eyes closed. Then Choripán arrived on the scene, promising an authentic experience of Argentine cuisine. The crispy bread, the spicy chimichurri and the sausage formed a harmonious trio, an explosion of flavors that made us forget about real life for a few moments. But not everything is rosy in the Babbi Osteria garden. The breaded sweet and sour chicken, poor thing, looked like it came out of a twisted fairy tale. The breaded dough dominated the dish, relegating the chicken to a mere supporting role. It was as if the king had lost his crown and the prince had become the sovereign. To end our gastronomic opera, the Penicillin drink entered the scene. We expected a healing elixir for the soul, but then a watery deluge appears, a cocktail so watery that it could be mistaken for the tear of a dehydrated angel.
